ZONING
Every home has at least two zones, the living area and the sleeping area, which are seldom used at the same time. In some homes, the zones are divided between the first and second floors which may require different heating and cooling loads.
When installing a new system, zoning should be considered. This can increase your comfort level and lower your cost to heat and cool your home. When combined with a programmable thermostat you won’t have to keep adjusting your thermostat or registers to be comfortable.
How it works is each zone in your home has dampers in the ductwork that open and close based on the thermostat demand. The thermostat sends a signal to the main control board that manages the equipment operates according to the call. The dampers then open and close directing the air as needed through the home giving you the full potential of your comfort system.
